Christina Pleizier & Krystyna Sadej

Christina Pleizier - Fiber Art

Christina studied at the Ontario College of Art, specializing in textile arts. She has exhibited at various locations in the Ottawa area, and has several works in private collections. She also designs and displays liturgical art.

Artist's statement:

I love to work with textiles, a medium which gives off warmth in both texture and colour. My first love was tapestry weaving, but I have since moved to piecing and quilting as well as embroidery, creating images in fabric and thread. Although quilting is an age-old craft, it has been revitalized as a modern art medium growing ever more popular. I welcome the opportunity to use it to translate the visions in my head to a medium that transcends time, taking my inspiration from the beauty of creation around me.

Krystyna Sadej- Tapestry and Mixed Media Fiber Art

Krystyna is mostly known as a tapestry artist, and this woven medium has greatly influenced her mixed-media art.
These texture-rich works reflect her own unique philosophy:  “The best thing you can do as an artist, is to allow yourself looseness of expression.  Runaway from conventional forms and landscapes by creating new relationships with traditional technique, color and media.”
Originally from Poland, Krystyna has exhibited her works internationally over the last 30 years, and her art is owned by collectors in Europe, Canada, and the U.S. more: krystynasadej.com
